Guinea pig refuses to use the ramp in his cage?

So I got a new cage for my guinea pig, he badly needed more space, and I was so excited for him to have more room. The cage came with a divider and a ramp to go to a separate room, which I made into a little feeding/bathroom area since he tends to do his business where he eats. I thought this way I could section off most of the mess. He won't use the ramp though. He just totally ignores it and when I put him on it he flips out. Will he just get use to it or should I just take out the divider/ramp? Is there a way I can help him get use to it?
