Why am I inhibited around women socially but fun and witty and happy when with men?

I'm guessing because in your age group women are in constant competition, while men are putting you up on that pedestal for your attention. I remember being in clubs, everything a woman says is witty and interesting (not really)! Men need the ego boost.
